SUPPORT FOR SCHOOLS
Working Towards a Brighter Future
Not everyone is aware of the seriousness of food allergies in children.
It can make a huge difference if your child's school understands the food allergies your family are living with and are supportive of the care plan needed to be in place to ensure the safety of your son or daughter during school hours.
You can arrange a meeting with the school to talk about your child's allergies and agree on a care plan that each party sign to say they will adhere to it. Not every school and teacher is as supportive and that's where we can help.
We'll liaise with the school and explain the importance of treating your child's allergy with complete seriousness. It is vital to not only your child's safety but your own peace of mind that your child is in a safe and in a happy environment.
We'll support you and your family fully whilst we also help your child's school in receiving the resources needed to understand the needs of an allergy sufferer.
We're that passionate about schools and families both receiving the correct support we've called on the Welsh Assembly to do just that, you can read more on this HERE.
Archie's Allergies would love to come to your children's school and support not only the teaching staff but the children on allergy awareness. We want to spread awareness of the severity of food allergies and start a normal every day conversation about food allergies just as if you were talking about having a cold, through our fun and educational school workshops.
We use exciting activities and interactive learning techniques to get the children involved. We find this is a great experience not just for the children we are teaching but adults too. It’s about knowing what food allergies actually are, how someone can react to an allergen and what to do if someone goes into anaphylactic shock. We'll also include a goodie bag for each attendee!
Plus, what we can all do to be more aware of the food we eat and how it effects others. We know how young bullying can start for food allergy sufferers and this can make them an easy target because they’re so vulnerable, we believe injecting educational sessions into school will help others understand better and minimise bullying.
We don't believe in waiting for a tradegy, for attitudes to change, Archie's Allergies stands for prevention and this is what our workshops help with.
If we can help, support and educate schools we can all be that little bit more allergy aware and change the way our children are treated because of this life threatening medical condition.
